Jim Miller had no problems taking a call from the UFC to replace Gray Maynard and meet Joe Lauzon at UFC 155.
“I’m just excited to get back in there,” said Miller, during a recent interview with MMA Fight Corner. “I haven’t been able to fight for six months now. It’s getting a little frustrating. It’s a great fight, he’s a fantastic fighter; I’m just anxious to get back in there, put on a show, put on a fight.”
Miller (21-4) said he tore a muscle in his ankle during his loss to Nate Diaz, but has been waiting for a potential fight from the UFC to present itself.
In Lauzon (22-7), Miller will have an opportunity to re-establish himself in the lightweight pecking order.
“He’s a scrappy dude,” Miller said. “He comes out and it’s just aggressive. But, he’s not unbeatable. I’m going in there and I’m going to be aggressive as well and I’m going to try to catch him.”
Miller is 9-3 in his UFC career, having lost to Diaz, current UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Gray Maynard.
