UFC fighter Eddie Yagin likely had thoughts about the end of his fighting career recently.
Yagin was rushed to the hospital after experiencing pain in his head following a training session. He was diagnosed with a severe brain injury, knocking him out of a planned December fight with Dennis Siver.
“The headaches I was experiencing were actually blood touching my brain,” said Yagin, in an interview with Sports Illustrated following his release from the hospital. “I had so many injuries in my life I was not scared. The only think I was scared about was surgery, of getting drilled into my skill to grain the blood. That was the part that told me if I had to do that, i would be the end of my fight career for sure.”
Yagin said he will take six months off from any kind of training. He plans to return to Hawaii and work as a tattoo artist and cook.
