Junior Dos Santos Wants To Leave His Name In The History Books

UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will attempt to secure his second successful title defense next month when he collides with Cain Velasquez at UFC 155.

If dos Santos is able to do just that, he will tie the record for most successful title defenses of the UFC heavyweight belt. Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar and Tim Sylvia all share that high-water mark.

So, as he prepares to attempt to make history, how much is “Cigano” driven by that prospect? He recently told the Brazilian news source Tatame.

“My dream was to be a champion, the heavyweight champion. Now, my dream is to break records. I’ll prove I’m the baddest guy on the planet.”

Dos Santos (15-1) claimed the belt from Velasquez late in 2011, and stopped Frank Mir earlier this year. He was expected to meet Alistair Overeem, but those two could be on a collision course for 2013 if the stars align.

Pointless article, quoting an old interview already posted on this site, using a terrible picture. Choices, Dana, choices.
