Bellator To Begin Using Championship Rematches In 2013

Bellator Fighting Championships appears to be listening to fans and fighters alike.

On the Bellator website, CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed that immediate championship rematches will be given on an as-needed basis beginning in 2013. Starting this January, Bellator will be seen on Spike TV.

Championship fights give us some of the greatest moments in MMA. And, rematches of incredible championship fights will give fans like us more of those electrifying moments while staying true to the world’s best fighters having had to earn their way to those title shots.

Bellator typically crowns No. 1 contenders only through a season-long tournament. That decision kept the company from signing rematches such as Michael Chandler-Eddie Alvarez for the Bellator lightweight title.
