Weidman (9-0) was coming off a career-defining victory over Mark Munoz, and had hoped to inch closer to a title shot vs. Anderson Silva. Instead, his Serra-Longo teammate, Costa Philippou, will face Boetsch.
Weidman has been told if everything goes as planned, he will be “100-percent at 4 months.”
It’s been a rough month for “The All-American,” who also had his family home ravaged by Hurricane Sandy when the storm hit the East Coast.
