Phil Davis On Facing Forrest Griffin At UFC 155: ‘I’m Ready For Everything’

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin is hard to sum up. He’s had some incredible performances against the likes of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tito Ortiz, while struggling vs. Anderson Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Still, his UFC 155 opponent, Phil Davis, knows that Griffin will be a tough out come fight night.

“I’m ready for everything that goes along with fighting Forrest Griffin,” said Davis, during a recent interview with UFC.com. “Everything he has, he will try to hit you with. He’s almost better when he’s down a round-and-a-half. That’s when he’s most dangerous.”

Davis (10-1) got himself back on track with an October victory over Wagner Prado. “Mr. Wonderful” had suffered his first pro defeat vs. Rashad Evans earlier this year, while his first meeting with Prado ended in a no-contest.

Griffin (19-7) was slated to face Chael Sonnen, but Sonnen opted out. This will be the first time in eight UFC fights Griffin has not faced a former or current UFC champion. He defeated Tito Ortiz earlier this year.
