Vaughan Lee isn’t sure where it started, but he wants to let the world know that there has been no discussion between his team and the UFC regarding a match with Urijah Faber.
It’s a rumor. I haven’t heard anything from the UFC confirming it. I heard about me fighting Faber over Twitter. People were like, ‘Well, you’re fighting Faber and all this,’ and I was like, ‘Am I? Oh, cool.’ It’s just a rumor.
Lee (12-8-1) has not competed since a loss to T.J. Dillashaw, making it an interesting pairing for Faber. “The California Kid” was topped by Renan Barao for the interim UFC bantamweight title this past summer, put Lee isn’t seen as a top contender in the division at this point.
Faber has said he hopes to fight again in early 2013 after rehabbing his injured ribs suffered in the Barao fight.
