Miesha Tate: UFC Could Be Making A Mistake By Placing ‘Too Many Eggs’ In Ronda Rousey’s Basket

The UFC has pushed fighters as the elite in their division several times.

Names such as Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre and others have taken that momentum and ran with it.

If the women of MMA are going to do the same inside the Octagon, it appears Ronda Rousey will be leading the charge; and that doesn’t sit too well with Miesha Tate.

Tate, during an appearance on The MMA Hour recently, explained that she feels as though the UFC might be focusing too much on Rousey. The champion is expected to defend her title in February against Liz Carmouche at UFC 157.

“I think they’re putting a little too many eggs in one basket. I mean, what happens if (Rousey) goes out there and she does lose to Liz for some reason? Then it’s kind of like, all of this that they’ve put into it, is all nothing. I feel like it’s not maybe the smartest thing to just base everything solely off of Ronda.”

Tate, who dropped the Strikeforce title to Rousey earlier this year, again said she was never offered the fight, but would have taken it in a second.
