UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva continues to receive gushing praise from his boss, UFC president Dana White.
The UFC recently purchased a brand-new Bentley for Silva, likely as a token for all the money he has brought the promotion during his time.
“Anderson Silva is so far the best fighter in the world, (expletive) pound-for-pound – they ought to make a whole other list for him,” White said (thanks to MMAWeekly.com for the quotes). “I don’t know what you call it, but he should be on that list. That’s how good this guy is.”
Silva has successfully defended his UFC middleweight title 10 times and is on a UFC-record 16-fight win streak. He’s been voted Fighter of the Year several times, and is currently tied for third on the all-time UFC victories chart with Chuck Liddell.
“I feel like the media and the fans don’t grasp it, don’t get it as much as I do,” said White, on the greatness of Silva. “The day that guy comes around and says I’d like to retire, it’s gonna bum me the (expletive) out.”
