Jon Jones On Potential Anderson Silva Fight: ‘Everything Is A Possibility’

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took time this past weekend to offer up some interesting comments regarding a potential super-fight with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Previously, both Jones and Silva seemed uninterested in squaring off inside the Octagon.

Well, with Georges St-Pierre looking to face Nick Diaz instead of Silva, a Jones-Silva match could move up the charts.

“Everything is a possibility,” Jones said, during a scrum with reporters in Seattle. “I can’t count too much out. We were all put on this earth to think big. Anderson would definitely be a testament to my faith, my warrior spirit; who knows what will happen in the future.”

Jones laughed after his remarks, joking that maybe the relationship developed between the two had seen a rift. While that doesn’t appear to be the case, “Bones” does believe MMA needs fights between champions to help the sport grow.

“I think super fights are important,” Jones said. “They are important for legacies. Do I have a desire to compete in one. I don’t have it (right now). Unless someone comes and challenges me, I’m fine.”

Jones is set to appear on The Ultimate Fighter in January against Chael Sonnen, with the two expected to lock up in April for the title.
