Bellator 84 Results: New Heavyweight Champion Is Crowned

Bellator 84 did not go off without a hitch Friday night, as has become the norm for Bellator.

Co-main event fighters Marcin Held and Dave Jansen were forced off the card due to Held being just 20 years old. In Indiana, fighters must be 21 years of age to compete inside the cage.

The lightweight finale will now take place in 2013, as Held turns 21 in January.

In the main event, Alexander Volkov defeated Richard Hale to become the new Bellator heavyweight champion. The belt was vacated after Cole Konrad announced his retirement as champion earlier this year.
