Nick Diaz Will Remain Suspended Until February, Should Not Keep Him From March Fight With GSP

Nick Diaz was denied an appeal for his suspension bu a Nevada judge earlier this week. Diaz was hoping to have his suspension for a failed post-fight drug test overturned.

Diaz (26-8-1) will remain suspended until February when he can re-apply for his fight license. It appears he will have no issues doing so, and is expected to face Georges St-Pierre at UFC 158 in March for the UFC welterweight title.

Diaz was suspended for a year following his loss to Carlos Condit. It was the second time he had tested positive for marijuana in his system. His lawyer argued that the California medical marijuana license Diaz holds allowed him to do the drug and that the Nevada Athletic Commission violated his rights when they suspended.

The case was thrown out by the Nevada courts, leaving Diaz to remain on the sidelines for the next few months.
