Both Roy Nelson and Pat Barry earned decisive victories recently, and as far as “Big Country” sees it, the two would make great opponents for each other.
Nelson defeated Matt Mitrione, while Barry topped Shane Del Rosario. Both wins came by finish, with Barry’s coming in the second round and Nelson’s in the first.
“If Pats wants to, I’ll fight (him),” said Nelson, on The MMA Hour recently. “But I talked to Pat and he said he doesn’t want to fight for a while. He wants a vacation. I’m the kind of guy who likes to work.”
Nelson (18-7) won for the second time this year, as he also finished Dave Herman. He is 3-3 in his last six, with the losses coming to Fabricio Werdum, current UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and ex-champ Frank Mir. All three were decision defeats.
Barry (8-5) has alternated wins and losses in his last four, earning a pair of knockout victories in the process.
