Former UFC contender Patrick Cote has decided to switch weight classes, dropping from middleweight to welterweight.
Cote confirmed the news via his Twitter account.

Cote was scheduled to face Alessio Sakara in a rematch in 2013, but Sakara was forced out with a kidney issue. Cote was planning to remain at middleweight to make the match, but with it being cancelled it decided to make the change now.
Cote previously worked his way up to a title match with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, but the bout was stopped after he suffered a knee injury. “The Predator” returned to the UFC earlier this year, falling to Cung Le.
