Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz now represents Cris Cyborg. Ortiz caught some flack when UFC president Dana White said he was behind Cyborg not accepting a match with Ronda Rousey at 135 pounds.
Well, according to Ortiz, the long-term ramifications of Cyborg dropping down to bantamweight are too severe, as he told MMA Interviews.
Just being with Cyborg and wrestling her myself, she’s a big girl. To make it down to 135 pounds, it would kind of be health threatening.
Ortiz did say, however, that if things can be worked out between Rousey and Cyborg for a bout at 140 he would “love for the fight to happen.”
Cyborg (10-1) will have her suspension for a failed post-fight drug test lifted in the coming days. She has yet to sign any contract with the UFC.
