Carlos Condit quickly accepted a rematch with Rory MacDonald after the youngster came calling.
The two welterweights will do battle in March at UFC 158 from Montreal. The UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, faces Nick Diaz in the main event.
Following a win over BJ Penn, MacDonald made it known he wanted Condit next. Back in 2010, Condit dealt MacDonald his lone career loss.
“I’m fired up,” said Condit, during a recent interview with ESPN. “I’m looking to come back with a vengeance. I proved that I can compete with the best in the world.”
Condit was referring to a November decision loss to St-Pierre. “The Natural Born Killer” won the interim title with a decision victory over Diaz earlier this year, and had GSP rocked midway through the fight.
“I almost had the fight in the bag,” Condit said. “With some adjustments and a few tweaks in my game, I’m going to be able to capitalize on those moments that I had in the last fight.”
Condit has gone 13-2 since 2006, with the lone losses coming via decision.
