Daniel Cormier will become a UFC fighter following January, as the ex-Olympian confirmed he has signed a contract with the promotion.
Cormier, while appearing on MMAjunkie.com Radio, let it be known that his deal is a “shorter contract” than usually signed.
Cormier (10-0) faces Dion Staring next month at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine. “DC” won the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix earlier this year after entering the field as a replacement for Alistair Overeem.
The Strikeforce heavyweight division was absorbed when Zuffa purchased the promotion. Several fighters, including Overeem, Antonio Silva and Fabricio Werdum, have already fought inside the Octagon.
