Anderson Silva Has Signed A 10-Fight Contract With The UFC

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has plenty of fights on his mind before he retires.

Now, Silva has the contract to take on all those fights – and more – according to UFC president Dana White.

Silva recently completed the signing process on a 10-fight contract with the promotion, likely taking him up to his retirement from MMA. Silva is 38 years old.

“I don’t think we’ve ever done a 10-fight deal,” said White, following UFC 155. “Anderson said, ‘I want a 10-fight deal, not an eight-fight deal.’ I’ll give him a 100-fight deal if he wants one.”

White did say that Forrest Griffin was the only other fighter he could think of that may have signed a contract for 10 fights before. Griffin was the first winner of The Ultimate Fighter.

Silva could find out his next opponent in January, as White confirmed that Michael Bisping will be given a title shot with a victory over Vitor Belfort. “The Spider” has also expressed interested in potential super-fights with fellow champions Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre.
