Liz Carmouche doesn’t plan on backing down from Ronda Rousey when the two collide in the first-ever female fight inside the Octagon at UFC 157.
Rousey, who has steamrolled her way to six victories – all via first round armbar – might just get a taste of her own medicine from Carmouche (7-2).
“Maybe I’ll judo throw and armbar her,” said Carmouche, during a recent Q&A with fans prior to UFC 155’s weigh-ins. “For the most part, we’ve been training for her from the day she took the UFC title.”
Carmouche wasn’t the first choice to meet Rousey in the pivotal match for women’s MMA, but that doesn’t mean she plans to let the former Olympian walk all over her. In fact, Carmouche is already looking towards replacing Rousey in a potential match with Cris Cyborg.
“I would absolutely be willing to fight Cris Cyborg,” Carmouche said. “If she wants to fight for the belt, she needs to come down to 135.”
