Frankie Edgar Warns Jose Aldo: Do Not Underestimate Me

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has heard it time and time again – not big enough, not strong enough, not good enough.

Well, Edgar has found a way to win 14 of his 18 career MMA bouts, including victories over BJ Penn and Gray Maynard.

Now, “The Answer” is putting the finishing touches on his training ahead of a February 2 meeting with Jose Aldo at UFC 156 for the UFC featherweight title. And, Edgar believes he is being overlooked once again by his opponent.

“I’m hearing he’s doing some video blogs saying I’m not going to be making it out of the first or second round,” said Edgar, during his own recent video blog. “Homeboys got something coming, as I’m feeling good and ready to go.”

Originally, Aldo and Edgar were expected to face off in late 2012, but an injury to “Scarface” kept him on the sidelines. Aldo (21-1) has not fought since knocking out Chad Mendes last January, while Edgar (14-3-1) was defeated by Benson Henderson in his quest to reclaim the UFC 155-pound title. Edgar decided to move to featherweight after the loss.
