Tyron Woodley has been signed by the UFC to replace an injured Erick Silva against Jay Hieron at UFC 156. The card takes place February 2.
The placement of the Woodley-Hieron bout is currently unknown for the Super Bowl weekend card.
Woodley (10-1) is coming off his first defeat, as he fell to Nate Marquardt last year in a bout to crown a new Strikeforce welterweight champion. The belt was vacated when Nick Diaz signed with the UFC.
Hieron (23-6) will be seeking his first UFC victory in four tries, as the veteran was topped by Jake Ellenberger in his return in 2012.
