Donald Cerrone Still Puzzled By Jon Jones’ Decision Not To Fight

Donald Cerrone has never turned down a fight.

Cerrone, who is a teammate of UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at Jackson MMA in New Mexico, asked “Bones” exactly what led him to turning down a bout with Chael Sonnen last year. “Cowboy” discussed the incident during a recent fan Q&A.

“(Jones) goes, ‘Well, you don’t make a million (dollars) to fight,’” Cerrone said. “And I said, ‘Well, you’re right, but I (expletive) fight every time with all my heart.”

Cerrone (19-4-1) said he would have taken any fight offered by the UFC because “that’s our job. I don’t think you should curl up and find a way out.”

Cerrone will have an opportunity to inch closer to a UFC lightweight title shot when he faces Anthony Pettis (15-2) later this month at UFC on Fox 6.

That’s why Donald is one of the only Greg Jackson fighters I still like cause he has a mindset to always go out and put on a show, not to win by points like most of Greg’s fighters, and I’m glad he’s willing to criticize the star pupil at his gym cause I’m sure most others wouldn’t be ballsy enough to do it

Greg Jackson is pretty much finished. He turned his back on the fighters who made him big, and now most of his other fighters have moved on to other gyms or started their own. Jones is the only championship-caliber fighter Jackson still has, so Jackson is going to hide and protect him as best he can. That’s why Jackson told him to run and hide from Chael.

Jones is all about money, not being a likable fighter. He’s the reason why old school fans are leaving MMA in droves, and the only fans still left are the douchebags with flat-brimmed hats. He wrecks a car a year, so I guess he needs all that money to pay for his car insurance and DUI fines.
