UFC officials have kicked it into overdrive to start 2013, announcing several bouts for first quarter events.
UFC 158, which takes place March 16 from Montreal, has received a middleweight contest between Chris Camozzi and Nick Ring.
Both fighters have put together strong runs inside the Octagon, with Camozzi (18-5) going 5-2, including three consecutive victories.
Ring, meanwhile, is 13-1 and coming off a victory over Court McGee. His lone career loss came at the hands of Tim Boetsch.
As expected, the UFC’s return to Japan for UFC on Fuel TV 8 on March 3 will have an Asian feel to it.
Mizuto Hirota will make his debut after a run in Strikeforce, dropping to featherweight and taking on Rani Yahya. Hirota (14-5-1) is a former World Victory Road and DEEP lightweight champion who has gone 4-2 in his last six, falling to ranked fighters Pat Healy and Shinya Aoki.
Yahya sports a 17-7 record, including a 2-1 mark inside the Octagon.
Also, Marcelo Guimaraes (8-0-1) has signed to face Hyun Gyu Lim (10-3-1). The bout marks the debut in the UFC for Lim, while Guimaraes is 1-0 in his Octagon career.
