Christian M’Pumbu will finally defend his Bellator light heavyweight title next month, as he takes on Attila Vegh at Bellator 91.
The event was made official by Bellator for February 28 from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
M’Pumbu (18-4-1) claimed the title with three straight knockouts, but has yet to defend it. In his last action – in late 2011 – M’Pumbu was defeated by Travis Wiuff.
“I am extremely excited about this opportunity to defend my Bellator light heavyweight world championship,” M’Pumbu said. “I look forward to getting back in the cage and putting on a show for all of the amazing Bellator fans.”
Vegh (28-4-2) earned his shot at the Bellator belt when he won the 2012 “Summer Series” tournament.
