Bjorn Rebney Says Bellator Will Look Into Strikeforce Fighters On ‘Case-By-Case Basis’

Bellator isn’t going to jump in head-first and chase after Strikeforce fighters now that the promotion has folded up shop.

And, considering the UFC has already signed several of the main fighters from the promotion, it seems to be a good idea by Bellator.

“The door is open to it, but there’s never like a lock in on it and say, ‘Hey, we’re going to do that for sure,'” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney, in an interview with MMAWeekly Radio recently. “You look at it on a case-by-case basis, you see where a guy fits in and if he’s got the right fit for the organization, and if so, there aren’t any handcuffs on us doing something like that. You could see it.”

Rebney added that Bellator has been scouting the Strikeforce roster for some time now, saying, “a lot of us have known and thought (disbanding) was going to happen for a long time. We’ll see what happens and who’s available.”

The UFC has signed already signed such fighters as Daniel Cormier, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, Caros Fodor and others in the last few weeks.
