April will be an interesting month for the UFC, as both bouts have been made official by the promotion for UFC on Fox 7.
In the main event, Benson Henderson will put his UFC lightweight title on the line against Gilbert Melendez. The co-main event boasts Frank Mir welcoming Daniel Cormier to the Octagon.
The card takes place April 20 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose.
Henderson (18-2) has successfully defended his title twice, trumping Frankie Edgar and Nate Diaz. He is a perfect 6-0 since joining the UFC.
Melendez (21-2) will enter as the last Strikeforce 155-pound champion. He has not fought since early in 2012, when he defeated Josh Thomson.
Mir (16-6) is a former UFC heavyweight champion. He was scheduled to face Cormier (11-0) in Strikeforce late in 2012, but a training injury knocked him out. A former Olympian, Cormier will be making his Octagon debut.
