John Dodson Feels Blessed To Be In UFC Main Event Vs. Demetrious Johnson

John Dodson has made a rapid climb up the UFC’s ladder since winning The Ultimate Fighter.

Dodson secured himself a UFC flyweight title shot vs. Demetrious Johnson this month at UFC on Fox 6 by defeating Jussier Formiga last year.

Now, sitting at 3-0 inside the Octagon, Dodson is main eventing a Fox show – quite the climb for the 28-year-old.

“It’s awesome,” said Dodson, during a recent conference call. “How many people can say they main event in their third fight in the UFC? I’ve only been in the UFC for a year.”

Dodson (14-5) won the TUF title by besting T.J. Dillashaw in 2011. He followed up with wins over Tim Elliott and Formiga to cement his position.

“I’m blessed to be here. I want to make sure to put on a great show. I want the flyweights to be known.”

Dodson will be the first TUF winner since season five to compete for a UFC title.
