Bellator 85 Results: Michael Chandler Submits Rick Hawn, Pat Curran Bests Patricio Freire

Michael Chandler staked him claim to being considered a top lightweight, submitting former Olympian Rick Hawn in the main event of Bellator 85 Thursday night. The card was the first to air on Spike TV for Bellator.

Chandler, who won the title from Eddie Alvarez in 2011, locked in a rear-naked choke with just under two minutes to go in the second round.

Pat Curran also successfully defended his championship, defeating Patricio Freire to remain Bellator featherweight champion.
