Demetrious Johnson Prepared To Put Out John Dodson’s Fire At UFC On Fx 6

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson expects nothing short of an all-out-war when he steps inside the Octagon against John Dodson Saturday night at UFC on Fox 6. The bout will mark the first title defense for Johnson, who has become familiar with going the distance.

In all six of his UFC bouts since joining the promotion from the WEC, “Mighty Mouse” has been forced to wait for the judges to read their scores. He is 4-1-1 in those six matches, including a title-winning victory over Joseph Benavidez last year.

But, if Johnson could pick any scenario in which to finish his match with Dodson, it would be short and sweet, as he told Fuel TV recently.

I want to go in there with a flash kick and knock him out and walk out of there with no broken bones, that’s the way I’d like to have it. But we don’t live in a world of fantasies. I’ll go in there and work hard, and come out with a victory.

Johnson’s (16-2-1) lone loss in the UFC came to bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. He entered the UFC flyweight tournament and fought Ian McCall to a draw after a scoring error was made, but defeated McCall in a rematch.
