Jon Jones: I’m A Better MMA Wrestler Than Chael Sonnen

Jon Jones is letting the stats speak for themselves.

“Bones,” who is a former NJCAA national wrestling champion, has yet to be taken down in his UFC career.

Later this year, Jones will meet Chael Sonnen for his title, and will likely have to fend off several takedown attempts.

Back during his first meeting with Anderson Silva, Sonnen controlled the tempo by taking the Brazilian down countless times.

“Chael takes down a lot of opponents, but he has been taken down by Demian Maia,” Jones said, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “Right now, I haven’t been taken down by anyone. I’m not going to say that it isn’t possible, but I’m going to have to say it’s myself based on the stats.”

Of course, there is a different use of “college” wrestling and the wrestling used in MMA. Still, we could see Jones on his back for the first time come April and UFC 159.

Cormier will be the first to take Jones down

I highly doubt Cormier can take Jones anyplace but on his back to be beat for the first time in his career by Jon Jones.

Also i wonder why Cormier hasn’t had any Championships yet? He should’ve already been one by now.
