Vitor Belfort Comes Through With Victory Over Michael Bisping

Vitor Belfort looked to the man upstairs for support prior to facing Michael Bisping Saturday night.

Belfort predicted that he would have his hand raised at UFC on FX 7, derailing the title hopes of Bisping. And, that’s exactly what he did, delivering a head-kick followed by some ground-and-pound.

“That’s what the lord told me. I’m a victor, not a victim,” said Belfort, during the post-fight show on Fuel TV. “That’s something I live for. I challenge people – the toughest battle is not in the Octagon, it’s outside the Octagon – to live in your principles, with morals and integrity. I tell people to fight with faith. My has a name and a fingerprint. You live by what you preach. Don’t be a hypocrite. Have a moral stand and that’s what I bring.”

Belfort improved to 22-10 with the victory, and made it quite known during the post-fight press conference that he wants a rematch with Jon Jones. Belfort was defeated by Jones via submission in late 2012, despite having a deep armbar locked in early in the bout.
