Ronda Rousey Knows The Pressure Is On To Perform At UFC 157

Ronda Rousey has dealt with immense pressure in the past, as the UFC female bantamweight champion is an ex-Olympic athlete.

However, the pressure Rousey will be feeling at UFC 157 could be even greater, as she likely carries the weight of the female division on her shoulders.

Rousey will look to defend her belt against Liz Carmouche in the main event – and the first female fight in UFC history – and she has already dealt with plenty of naysayers who claim “Rowdy” does not deserve the headline act.

“It’s very cool, but I am not surprised (people are questioning the PPV main event slot),” said Rousey, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “If they want me to be fighting for a title in the UFC, the title fight should be the main event regardless if I’m a guy or a girl. It shouldn’t have anything to do with my placement on the card.”

The event will also feature Dan Henderson taking on Lyoto Machida, and one of Henderson’s own coaches was recently quoted as saying he believed Hendo-Machida should be the main fight featured.
