Glover Teixeira Looking To Get Right Back Inside The Octagon After Defeating ‘Rampage’ Jackson

Glover Teixeira wasted enough time trying to get to the UFC.

Following a decision victory over former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Saturday night, Teixeira doesn’t plan to let anymore time slip through the cracks.

Teixeira pushed his win streak to 18 straight by battering Jackson with his heavy hands, nearly stopping him a handful of times. When asked during the post-fight show on Fuel TV if he planned to wait for a title shot, Teixeira declined such a notion.

“I don’t want to wait that long.”

The Chuck Liddell-inspired fighter added that it isn’t up to him to decide if he fights for the title, saying, “The No. 1 contender is Chael Sonnen, and you’ve got to respect that. Let him go and see what happens.” Teixeira did add that he believes Jon Jones will retain his title against Sonnen when the two meet later this year.

Following his win over Teixeira, Jones – who was in attendance – told him, “Great fight, you and me will have a great fight.”
