Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson isn’t sure if he can ever become a contender again following a loss to Glover Teixeira Saturday night at UFC on Fox 7.
Jackson’s third consecutive defeat – a career first – left him pondering his future during the post-fight interview on Fuel TV.
“I think I just have to look at my reality and see,” Jackson said. “The game has changed. Maybe I can be one of those mid-range fighters who are exciting for the fans. I don’t know if I can compete with the top guys anymore. Maybe I can come back if I get my mind right.”
Jackson’s contract with the UFC expired following the loss to Teixeira. He hinted that he might try and take a boxing match before looking to return to MMA.
Jackson did make sure to let all of his fans know, “I’ll fight again. It’s still in my heart to fight.”
