Bellator 88 To See New Middleweight Champion Crowned

Bellator will have a new middleweight champion once Bellator 88 concludes on February 7, as Alexander Shlemenko and Maiquel Falcao battle for the vacant title.

The belt has been champion-less since Hector Lombard signed with the UFC.

Along with the world title match, the card, which takes place from Gwinnett, Georgia and airs on Spike TV, will host the beginning of the season eight featherweight tournament. The winner receives $100,000 and a title match with Pat Curran.

Popo Bezerra faces Genair daSilva, Mitch Richman battles Mitch Jackson, Marlon Sandro faces Akop Stepanyan, and Fabricio Guerrero battles Frodo Khasbulaev.
