Vitor Belfort believes everything he has done regarding the use of TRT has been by the rules.
Belfort, who defeated Michael Bisping last month and will face Luke Rockhold later this year, was granted an exemption to take testosterone replacement therapy.
However, “The Phenom” has caught a lot of attention because of a prior failed drug test for taking steroids. The Brazilian Athletic Commission stated that Belfort was tested and passed each time, making the TRT use legal for his fight in Brazil with Bisping.
On Twitter over the weekend, Belfort decided to speak out for the first time regarding TRT and his thoughts on the matter:
This will be last time that I will talk about TRT. I never hide from the UFC that I was on the treatment but I admit that I didn’t admit to the press. I confess that this was my mistake I am MEN enough to admit my mistakes. So from now on, guys please don’t fight me if u going to use this as a execuse that’s it. I never lie and never hide from UFC.
While Belfort later took down the message, he did leave one up that read, “GET IT OVER!! A KICK ON THE HEAD DOESN’T HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH TRT This call (skill).”
