Former UFC No. 1 contender Jon Fitch appears set to find a new home, and it likely will be the World Series of Fighting.
Fitch, however, declined to confirm anything on Monday. Instead, he posted a message eluding to a statement being released later this week detailing his next fight.
Want to thank everyone for all the support and thoughts. I should have news this week on where I will be fighting next.

Fitch (24-5-1) went just 1-2-1 in his last four UFC fights, and was released last week. He is currently on his way to Japan for Saturday’s UFC card.
Back in 2008, the 35-year-old earned himself a UFC welterweight title shot against Georges St-Pierre. He reeled off five consecutive wins after the loss, but has found trouble since a 2011 draw with BJ Penn.
World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo recently stated that the two sides were in talks, which seems to be the best place for Fitch to go after Bellator MMA made it known they had no interest in him.
Despite his age, Fitch can still go, though his grinding style hasn’t played well with fans. I’m interested in seeing who the WSOF – if that is where he goes – pairs him up with.
