Murilo “Ninja” Rua has decided that 13 years of fighting is enough, announcing his retirement recently.
Rua competed for PRIDE, EliteXC, Strikeforce, DREAM and other promotions during his career, amassing a record of 20-13-1. He has lost his last three fights since 2010, and announced his retirement twice previously.
Guys, I am officially announcing my retirement definitive MMA. Thanks to the fans, media and fighters all my friends who supported me today. I will take great memories of this sport that I love.
Ninja is the brother of former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. He added that he plans to hold seminars about MMA in his community.
