Heavyweight Soa Palelei is headed back to the UFC, and will bring an eight-fight win streak with him this time.
Palelei confirmed through his management team, Paradigm Sports, that he has signed a four-fight deal with the promotion. Palelei (18-3) previously fought inside the Octagon in 2007, falling to Eddie Sanchez.
“I’m thankful to (UFC president) Dana White and (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva for giving me this opportunity to come back to the UFC to showcase my skills,” Palelei stated. “With determination, hard work and a great team, I’m happy to say that today I have signed with the UFC. I look forward to competing in the best organization in the world.”
Since his lone UFC fight, Palelei has won 10 of 11 bouts – the only defeat was courtesy Daniel Cormier. He has exceptional knockout ability, earning 14 first round stoppages in his career.
Palelei could be an interesting challenge in the division, as he appears to be more experienced and better prepared to fight in the UFC this time around.
