Interim UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao plans to remain active, as a report from ESPN links Barao to another title defense soon.
The Brazilian would face Eddie Wineland in the main event of UFC 161 in June. The card goes down from the MTE Centre in Winnipeg.
Barao (30-1) defended his title vs. Michael McDonald last month, scoring a finish of the top prospect. He secured the belt with a win over Urijah Faber last year.
Dominick Cruz, the reigning UFC bantamweight champion, remains sidelined following a second knee surgery. No timetable has been discussed for his return.
Wineland (20-8-1) has a 2-2 mark since joining the UFC from the WEC, including a recent win over Brad Pickett.
