UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson recently underwent surgery for a torn labrum that knocked him out of a planned title defense with John Moraga.
Johnson, who will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks, believes he will be fighting again in June – at least that’s his hope.
“If things go well, I’m going to push for June 15,” said Johnson, during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour. “You only get one body.”
Johnson, who has fought a number of times in the last two years on his way to claiming and defending the UFC 125-pound title, stated he wants to “have a full training camp going into a championship fight,” and that was his decision to pull out of the Moraga contest.
