Rory MacDonald will remain sidelined indefinitely after re-injuring his neck during a recent training session.
MacDonald was forced to exit a planned meeting with Carlos Condit after suffering a neck injury in practice. He told SportsNet.ca that he tweaked the muscle on Tuesday.
“(Rehab) was going good,” MacDonald said. “I was trying to get back slowly into training and I was just doing technique.”
“Aries” called out Condit for a rematch, as the former interim UFC welterweight champion is the lone man to defeat MacDonald. He added that a meeting could still be set for the future, but would wait until Saturday’s card plays out first.
Condit will now meet Johny Hendricks at UFC 158 from Montreal.
