Cris Cyborg: ‘I Am The Best, I’m Proud To Be Saving Women’s MMA’

Former Strikeforce female champion Cris Cyborg will make her debut for Invicta FC next month, taking on Ediane Gomes in her first fight in over a year.

Cyborg, who was suspended for a failed post-fight drug test while with Strikeforce, has been in the public eye because of her ongoing feud with UFC champion Ronda Rousey.

Both sides have stated that they do not desire to move to either weight class, and that left Cyborg to sign with Invicta FC.

“I’m not the one that hides behind a weight class that she knows I can’t make,” said Santos to TMZ. “I am the best and do not want to talk about hypotheticals. I fight in Invicta and I’m proud to be helping save women’s MMA.”

Cyborg-Gomes will be part of Invicta FC 5 from Kansas City. The event is expected to stream live online for a charge.

Is Cyborg-Rousey a match that you want to see? Would it be bigger than say, Rousey-Miesha Tate 2? How about Rousey-Sara McMann, a battle of former Olympians?
