There was no intense staredown Friday night following UFC 158 weigh-ins, as Nick Diaz came right after Georges St-Pierre, forcing officials to separate the two.
Saturday, though, there will be no one to step in outside of the referee, as GSP puts his UFC welterweight title on the line against Diaz.
Both fighters successfully made weight, and all systems are go for the Bell Centre. After hitting the scale, Joe Rogan asked each their final thoughts.
“I am going to get out there and fight,” Diaz said. “I represent Stockton, California, Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, my team; thank you very much.”
As you might have expected, Diaz was greeted with a chorus of boos from the Canadian fans. He’s pushed St-Pierre’s buttons like no one else before.
After cracking the first smile in a while, St-Pierre stated, “I can talk as much as I want, but tomorrow, I am going to walk the walk,” before exiting the stage to cheers.
There is no denying that these two have little in common outside of MMA, and you can bet there will be no touching of the gloves before the bell rings Saturday in Montreal.
