Ronda Rousey Believes Catching, Stopping Drug Users Is Priority

UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been tested since she started competing, growing up in the Olympics before entering MMA.

During a recent appearance on the Jim Rome Show, Rousey stated that she believes the MMA community needs to continue to crack down on known drug abusers and stop them from competing in the sport.

“We should try and catch those people who are cheating because the second we give up and stop pursuing them, then we stop supporting the athletes that really matter.”

Rousey earned a win over Liz Carmouche last month in the first-ever UFC female fight. She is expected to meet the winner of Miesha Tate-Cat Zingano next.

Rousey’s been very vocal against fellow fighter, Cris Cyborg. The ex-Strikeforce champion was suspended for a failed drug test, and is slated to make her Invicta FC debut next month. She was also recently selected to be a coach on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
