Ronda Rousey will find out in April who her next challenger is, as Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate meet at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.
While the UFC bantamweight champion would have no issues taking on Tate a second time, the prospects of facing a fellow unbeaten fighter in Zingano appears to be of more interest to her.
“I’ve had my eye on Cat for a while,” said Rousey, during a recent appearance on Inside MMA. “I’m very interested to see how that fight goes. I think it would be nice to have Cat win and just to have another name that’s kind of well known within the girls’ ranks.”
Rousey owns seven first round armbar victories, while Zingano has three submission and three knockout finishes to her credit.
The winner of Tate-Zingano will also coach opposite Rousey on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Rousey defeated Tate back when they both competed in Strikeforce for the promotions bantamweight title.
Personally, with all that previous built-up hatred between Tate and Rousey, I feel pairing those two together for several months on TUF would give even more heat to a second matchup.
