Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler wants to follow the advice of his boss and compete more often.
Chandler, while a guest on The MMA Report recently, stated his desire to fight again this summer.
“I would definitely say ‘Summer Series’ in June or July,” Chandler said. “Definitely sooner than later, definitely not the fall.”
Dave Jansen and David Rickels each own tournament titles to their credit and the customary title shots that go with them. Jansen was the season seven winner, Rickels the season eight champ.
“I want to go out there and continue to show the MMA world what I am about,” he added, “which is hard work and making improvements.”
Chandler (11-0) defeated Rick Hawn earlier this year. He has earned five submission triumphs and four knockout wins in his career.
While the best lightweights in the UFC battled it out Saturday, Chandler remains among those looking to make his mark outside the Octagon.
