UFC 159 Results: Jon Jones Retains Light Heavyweight Title

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones successfully defended his title against Chael Sonnen Saturday night against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159.

Jones, who used Sonnen’s typical grind-and-ground style, took the former UFC middleweight contender down three times. The referee stepped in after the third following some intense elbows to the face.

Before he could be interviewed by Joe Rogan, Jones looked down and noticed his big left toe was injured. “Bones” had suffered the injury late in the opening round.

In other action, Michael Bisping defeated Alan Belcher and Roy Nelson finished Cheick Kongo.
