Gegard Mousasi Continues To Ponder Move To Middleweight

Gegard Mousasi isn’t ready to completely indulge himself in a move back to middleweight, but it appears the former Strikeforce champion is leaning that way.

Following a win last month over Ilir Latifi, Mousasi hinted that he could drop from light heavyweight to 185 in his quest to become a UFC champion.

Since that time, Mousasi has fielded several questions concerning the decision – but, as he posted on Twitter recently, nothing has been made official.

“I didn’t decide yet, we need to talk to UFC first,” he posted. “Big chance that I go to 185…Big chance.”

Mousasi also said that his knee is improving each day. While not making public the extent of the injury, he did say the knee bothered him while facing Latifi.

Is the move to middleweight a good one for Mousasi? Only time will tell, but I believe with the size of his body, it is. Light heavyweights are gigantic looking compared to “The Dreamcatcher.”
