UFC officials have had a busy day, making fights left and right and changes, as well.
First up is UFC 162, which saw a change.
Edson Barboza will now face fellow Brazilian fighter Rafaello Oliveira at the July show in Las Vegas. Oliveira replaces John Makdessi, who was injured recently.
Barboza (11-1) defeated Lucas Martins this past January after suffering his first pro defeat at the hands of Jamie Varner in 2012.
Oliveira (15-5) is 1-2 in his last three, but coming off a win over Yoislandy Izquierdo. SporTV Globo first reported the bout.
When the UFC returns to Brazil with UFC 163, Cezar Ferreira will be there, as The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner meets Clint Hester.
Ferreira defeated Sergio Moraes to improve to 5-2 in his career last year. He was injured and forced out of a planned match for May vs. C.B. Dollaway.
Hester (8-3) is also a TUF veteran, having competed on the season between Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen. He topped Bristol Marunde to secure another fight inside the Octagon.
And finally, UFC 164 will see the return of Soa “The Hulk” Palelei, as he faces Nikita Krylov.
Palelei had his scheduled match with Stipe Miocic called when the UFC decided to pair Roy Nelson up with Miocic. Palelei is 18-3 in his career, while Krylov (14-0) is making his debut in the promotion.
Fight News Australia was first with the report.
